Farewell from The PDX Beat!

It is with mixed emotions that I announce the end of The PDX Beat podcast after a nearly two-year run.  I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with you all, and appreciate the friendships with which I’ve been rewarded from meeting my many guests.  But other priorities have surfaced, which requires a good chunk of my time, and there’s only so much of me to spread around. 😉

However, I’m a believer in never saying never, so I may return one day.  For now, if you’re looking for another Portland-centric podcast with which to feast your ears, check out Sean Barron’s, The Portland Cool Podcast, whose episodes can be found on his website and on iTunes.

Also, the past episodes will live on in SoundCloud, iTunes, and Stitcher Radio, so please do give them a re-listen if you were so inclined.

Lasty, from all of us at The PDX Beat, thanks for having tuned in.

#64 – Coastal Cascade

In this episode, I feature my chat with singer-songwriter, Matt Hartman, who performs under Coastal Cascade.  I also included snippets of songs from his recently released, self-titled debut EP.

#62 – Author Chat: Monica Cable

Local author, Monica Cable, chatted with me about her upcoming book entitled If You Were An Alien Would You Want To Live Here: an Alien Hypothesis (101 Reasons Why Fearing an Alien Invasion is Absolutely Preposterous and 10 That Kinda Make Sense).  Long title–mighty fine read.

#61 – Silenced In The Surf Book Launch

On March 29th, I joined fellow podcaster, Sean Barron of The Portland Cool Podcast, in the launch party of local author Kate Dyer-Seeley‘s book called Silenced In The Surf, the third installment in the Pacific Northwest Mystery series published by Kensington Press.  I was behind the scenes this time while Sean was the host of the show, which also included Anneke Ayers from Double Mountain Brewery, and Greg Stiegel from Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Association, whose companies were featured in Kate’s book.  Thanks for giving it a listen.

#58 – The Vegan Episode

According to the algorithms of a very popular website that aggregates user-generated reviews, The City of Roses  has at least 624 restaurants in which vegans can dine.  That’s a lot.  And here in this episode to help us navigate the Portland vegan scene is my friend (and vegan), Janessa Philemon-Kerp (who Tweets under @janessapk).
